Hometown?

Okere Falls, New Zealand

Where did you last paddle?

Kaituna River – it’s a minute from my house.

What are your best paddling memories?

Paddling down the magical Kaituna lower gorges (Awesome and Smokey Gorge). This is a super special place and beats everything else I know by far.

Where should everybody go paddling once?

New Zealand!

What else do you like to do when you’re not out paddling?

Swimming down the Kaituna River. It’s best on top of a blow-up pool toy like an aeroplane or turtle, or maybe an armchair.

What’s your best advice for other paddlers?

Have a great time on every section of river and look after you paddling mates. Always look back!

What are your favourite bits of kit?

Palm Atom drysuit and my Orbit deck. Never let me down ever.

What is left on your list of places to go?

The whole wide world!

Describe your perfect day on the water?

Good friends, warm water, warm air, fluffy whitewater, and a smokey Kiwi barbecue off the river.

What are you most looking forward to in 2019?

Going to the Ottawa River in Canada and Germany/Austria in July 2019. It’s supposed to be a trip to see family but I have a feeling there’s going to be a lot of paddling, too.
